A Fall Themed Wedding

need not be ruled by scare crows,

orange pumpkins, Indian corn and

leaves of red and gold! 

     This mid-November wedding distinguished itself with its sophisticated black and white theme, accented in the bride's favorite color - purple.

     Lending an unmistakable autumn feel to the ceremony and reception were magnolia and grape vine garlands, miniature purple & white decorative kale, colorful pheasant feathers and white pumpkins.

     Fall fruits & vegetables in a bountiful profusion graced the buffet table.

     Elegant purple calla lilies, white roses, green Bells of

Ireland and hypericum berries along with lots of purple daisies accentuated the fall theme with their bridal elegance.


Purples: calla lilies, limonium, scabiosa, Matsumoto asters

White: roses, feather sprays,

pearl pics, satin & pearl wrapped


Green: Bells of Ireland,

hypericum berries

Guests were welcomed by the warm glow of candlelight as they arrived for the ceremony. A tin lantern standing inside a grapvine wreath, covered in white and purple flowers, was accented with white pumpkins and magnolia leaves.

The elegant fall theme was

carried onto guest tables by setting silver vases filled with decorative kale and pheasant feathers atop large cabbage leaves. Silver votives and a sprinkling of purple daisy

heads completed the look of

the black table toppers over

white linens.

Bells of Ireland, pheasant feathers and assorted fall vegetables arranged in two decorative tin tubs, stacked

atop each other, made an attractive and appropriate centerpiece for the buffet table. Flickering light from tin lanterns cast an appetizing glow over the abundant crudite' style fare offered to the guests.

Baked ham, fresh yeast rolls, condiments, a large assortment of fruits and vegetables, dips in carved pumpkin and bread bowls, various cheeses, deviled eggs, crab dip, cheeseballs & crackers, red & green apple bites on skewers with chocolate for dipping, nuts and punch presented a casual, hearty fare. Wine and champagne for toasting completed this simple, yet bountiful fall harvest.

And, in keeping with the black/white and feathered theme . . . the Grand Finale!


Cream cheese pound cake filled and frosted with vanilla buttercream, covered with vanilla black Satin Ice fondant and Donna's made-from-scratch white vanilla fondant.

     Brian and I loved, loved, loved that delicious, mouth watering, scrumptious cake! Everyone wanted to take some home with them because it was that G-O-O-D! Brian and I can't wait much longer to try the top piece of cake . . . so . . . we are eating it this weekend for Father's Day! 

The flowers were beyond perfect. You went inside my head, took my thoughts, and sprinkled them with PERFECTION! Love you . . . LOVE EVERYTHING you touch!
